Application Process

1) Contact ADS for an interview request form at:
info@autismdogservices.ca or by phoning Wade, director of ADS at (519) 721-1068

2) ADS staff will review your interview request and contact you to arrange an in-home interview to meet your family and to determine whether or not a Service Dog will benefit your child and family.

3) Once accepted, your family is placed on our waiting list. A detailed application form is required for submission to ADS to reserve a spot on the wait-list.

4) Your family will be invited to participate in ADS training classes and events to meet others associated with ADS and to become more familiar with the Service Dogs in training. This can be an opportunity for you to become comfortable with handling Service Dogs along with the benefit of raising your child’s comfort level with Service Dogs.

5) When ADS trainers work with the Service Dogs in training, they are looking for the right match for your child and family. Your family will likely be introduced to more than one Service Dog (in your home) in a series of short visits to determine the dog’s suitability and to find the best match possible.

6) ADS will take time to find an appropriate match for your child.
ADS training staff will begin to formally train the parents/caregivers within the family home and community during the matching process and when a final match has been confirmed.
