Autism Dog Services Inc. 

Autism Dog Services train and place service dogs for Children with autism. Our service dogs provide safety, companionship and independence to children living with autism and other related disorders.

Autism Dog Services (ADS) was founded in 2007. In 2013, ADS achieved accreditation with Assistance Dogs International and is also a member of the Canadian Association of Guide and Assistance Dog Schools. ADS makes a very positive impact on the lives of children and their families and is honoured to serve the community with its strong values.

Would you like to be a part of providing this very valuable service to families living with autism? We are currently looking to hire a part time  Advanced Dog Trainer.

 Ideal Candidate requirements:

 The ideal candidate will have

-A minimum of 2 years dog training experience with formal experience and/or certification in dog training using scientific methods.  Service Dog training experience an asset but not required

-Must be an independent worker who is dependable, organized and responsible

-Computer skills along with good people skills are necessary.

-This position is a 20 hour a week contract for 1 year working from your home. Your own computer, internet provider and home office are required.

- Travel is required for this position so a current valid drivers licence, a clean driver’s record and your own reliable vehicle are required. ( mileage will be paid)

Responsibilities and Duties:

-House and care for a dog in your home (food and vet care is provided)

-Using Scientific positive training methods train the dog to be a suitable service dog for Autism (support provided)

-Place the dog in clients homes throughout Southwestern Ontario, and provide support via visits to their homes, phone and email (training provided)

-Attend staff meetings as requested

-Consult with staff as required

-Provide support for Parent workshops

-Maintain detailed records
